A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling error. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of junk emails, but this problem can be rectified using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a cloud hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few features, but it is incredibly user-friendly, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires only a single mouse click. All the email addresses that you have will be enumerated in this section alphabetically and you’ll just have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the specific address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another mouse click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be set up with several mouse clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses with any domain registered here. To enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you will have to click the symbol with the same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Disabling this feature can be achieved in the exact same manner and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all option has already been activated for a particular domain name, you will get a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never alter or disable any feature automatically.
